Yeah, it's becoming less frequent. I must have sat on my fucking muse because I haven't heard from that bitch in quite a while now.
It's not that I stopped loving you all, it's just that I've been running around like a much younger man trying to regain my former glory. Doing drugs, banging broads and acting a fool.
Well, all except the drugs and broads part.
This came in the mail for me today and I knew that I had to get a picture of it online for Josie as she would truly appreciate it.
Now that my weight has started to dip down into normal realms (well, my life time of normal that is) I'm able to actually get a few fun shirts again which is nice. Not able to wear them at work so I can't go overboard (and I pretty much go over-fucking-board on everything I do) but one for every day of the year should be sufficient right?
Work has been quite the blur lately. For about 5 straight working days I was involved in some sort of all day meeting. It appears as though I'm a vital part of my stores future. I've become the right hand grunt of the store manager which is a good and a bad thing as I'm sure you can all work out for yourselves.
Melissa takes off on Saturday and even though we only hang out twice (and maybe Thrice before she's gone) I'm going to miss having her back in town on an extended stay. However, I do believe there is a chance she will be back sometime around the end of September with my favorite Red Head! This I'm looking forward to as well.
And now that I think about it, I'm fucking glad to see her go because it's a pretty good feeling to be expecting someone to visit. People who live here are always within arms length, you just have to reach out and make contact. But when someone is out of town it's more exciting and you start to look forward to their presence. So, drinking buddy. Get on that plane and get the hell out of town, I can't wait till you come back!
Pretty much the same as the old saying, "I hate to see you go but I love to watch you leave."
End of September is going to be quite busy. One of my oldest and best friends is going to be in town on business for a few days and then spend a few extra pleasure days as well. Also my second family will be in town again and I can't wait to see them again. I truly miss them in the year that I don't get to see them so I'm quite excited for their arrival.
And now it's time for a power nap.

This is what Josie wants
So, Josie says what she wants she gets.
And in her post she talked about wanting this with Waffles and myself -
Rob is supposed to be in there somewhere but until I get a real picture this will have to do.

While it may be Canada day, today is National Josie Admits She Is Wrong Day.
Also, when she states "you'll never see this again" it isn't true because he'll see it here and hopefully on everyone else's blog as well for at least this one day.
This is a national situation and should be treated as such.

Weight Loss Day 14 and Poker Bloggers
Day 14 and I've been kind of dreading it for the past few days. Ever since the AC got fixed I've been eating more (weird eh?) and haven't been nearly as strict as I have wanted to be with myself. I've also somehow managed to not actually track my food through my Weight Watchers app for the past 3 days starting with a day that I knew was going to be bad.
On Thursday one of my best friends from work was leaving and came in to say Hasta La Pasta to me so I took her out to a lunch of her choosing, Famous Dave's. This ended up being a good choice for two reasons. 1st reason is because I stuck to a lunch sized portion of my order and didn't finish it all. 2nd reason is because they messed up her order and instead of getting pineapple wings they brought her Wilbur's Revenge (which if you don't know is the hottest wing they offer).
Wilbur's Revenge kicked her ass hardcore as she took an innocent, large, bite out of a wing and then proceeded to be in pain with tears in her eyes for at least 10 minutes. As a result of this mishap though she got her portion of the meal comped and my bill was significantly less.
After an hour of good conversation and good byes we took off. I pad the bill and still tipped as though the meal was full price.
Yesterday was an AVP meet and greet plus a good tournament. Being the only night that I'll probably make it out to hang out with all the visiting bloggers it ended up being a good one. I briefly got to meet Josie, I got to officially meet Lightning36DD (whom I have met before while playing at Bally's but before we were all bff blogger buddies and the such), got to catch up with Rob and Stump (who has a great Houston Texans Tat) a bit again and had Lindy99 introduce himself to me as well.
It's one thing to meet people who I have planned to run into, it's totally different to meet someone whom you have no idea actually reads my ramblings and asks a few questions about things that I have posted in the past. It's definitely a pretty cool feeling and it's interesting to hear people talk about how they started with such and such blog and moved to xyz and then eventually stumbled onto me. Either way I appreciate it and had a good time talking to all. Personally I prefer to catch up at a cash game instead of a tournament so maybe I'll try to make it out one more time before everyone heads home and I miss the opportunity.
Tonight is the meetup of the TBC cult of "stop fucking playing VBJ you idiot." At the last minute The Poker Barrister bought Tony a ticket so that he could actually make his own gathering instead of rotting away in the hell that is Atlantic City and bitching about not having enough money to live. I'd like to meet up with him but it will have to be somewhere other than the gathering as I have decided not to attend.
My train appears to have left it's track so lets pull that sucker back to where it belongs. I Diverged from my initial thought process. I meant to talk about AVP meeting because I knew it was going to be a "bad" day of sorts for my eating.
I knew that I was going to be meeting up with Carmel to talk about the house as I'm trying to hold to my promise of not posting all the information here for the world to see before talking to her about things. We ended up meeting at Bachi Burger which I've wanted to try for a while now but just never got around to it.
I had a Bahn Mi burger which was the sole reason I wanted to go there when I first learned of the place and let me tell you ---- well, I'll just say that I doubt I'll ever got back there on my own accord.
The Burger was not bad, it was not great. It had some weird pork pattay on it that was just bloody awful and disgusting. I almost had to spit out my bite of food. I removed the rest of that and finished the burger.
Bahn Mi is a great French/Vietnamese sandwich which involves lots of fresh veggies and a great taste. So, when I heard the combination of Bahn Mi and Burger I was like BONER! Not so much. I'll stick to my other place for now but I did try something new.
Then at the AVP meet-up it was going to be free pizza - Pizza is generally a lot of points per piece so I only had a few and stuck to smaller pieces. I tried my best to stick to my diet on a day when I was not going to eat at home nor pack my lunch but I was prepared for the worst.
Today I woke up and assumed the position. 270.4. BAM! Sweet. Progress. I was expecting a bit more than that so I am elated to read the numbers. This means that I lost another 2.6 pounds this week and am down over 10 pounds since I started tracking my Weight Watchers points. By the time day 21 rolls around I will officially be under 270 for the 1st time in quite a long time.
And this reminds me....
While at the AVP catch-a-snatch I ran into @KBBT (I think - this is off the top of my head) who is from Germany but spends a lot of time traveling the states playing poker and traveling the world for that matter. I have not seen him in probably 4-6 months so we spent some time talking and catching up and he asked if I had lost some weight.
Talk about the ultimate awesome right there. The proof is in the pudding if someone else notices and I know that this will help to keep my motivation up.
I am ready for whatever challenges that this week brings me.

Something about Women
Over on Josie's blog she just posted a great tutorial on how to pick up chicks and get laid.
I'm of the firm opinion that she saw how pathetic I am at getting the women-folk, she didn't want to offend me by sending me the steps personally so she did it as a "to all you lazy and dumb men" tutorial.
So, for entertainment value, I'm going to touch on her steps and point out how deficient I am in the chicky-poo category.
Step 1 - Don't get caught dead in the friend zone
Well - anyone who knows me knows that I'm 100% perpetually in the friend zone. I've set up shop and even have a sleeping bag. There is no getting me out because I'm just such a great listener and buddy. If I meed a chick there is a 97% chance I will end up in this zone and only a 3% chances that I will end up in the get in my pants zone.
We'll end today's lesson there. Since I have obviously failed at step 1, there is no need to continue. Once you enter the FZ it's pretty much a losing task to go anywhere else so the rest of the steps won't really help you too much. The only thing that's going to help is a chloroform rag, some roofies or a night of binge drinking causing her to lose her inhibitions and then regret everything she did the night before and probably kicking you out of even the friend zone because now it's too awkward to see you as that any more.
My last failed pick up line
Roses are red, Violets are twisted, are you ready baby? You're about to get fisted!
Still not 100% sure where I went wrong with that - I heard chicks dig a sensitive man that writes poetry?
So, I'll be working on my new method of picking chicks up. I heard chicks dig a craps dealer that makes lewd, but funny, remarks at the table.
"They're coming out"
"Winner winner oral dinner"
"Lets hit that point ma'am, it's obvious baby needs a new pair of boobs"
May all your sevens bounce off the table

Stats - A dorks update
Here is the update that I have been promising to myself. I'm pretty sure that most of this is going to be boring and unimportant to most/all of you but dag nab-bit it's the kind of thing I look at all the time. I don't know how often I'll actually do these types of posts but I'm sure it's going to be a couple of times a year.
Now, Like I said in my last post, this morning, I had been waiting to reach either 25 followers or to reach 10k page views before I did a statistical post. Yesterday I hit 25 followers and was about 400 views away from 10k. Now, from what I have been observing, the way that Blogger works is they cut the day off at 4pm. I have not found any way to change this to actually cut it off at MY midnight, so I am stuck with their reporting but whatever. It only annoys me a minor amount and I feel that I can live with it for now.
So, when I got home today to follow up on some comments I checked out my stats update so that I can start thinking about and composing this post and noticed that "yesterday" ended up being By Far my biggest day in terms of hits. My previous was 215 which I hit on back-to-back days on February 8th and 9th. However, yesterday's total surpassed it by a surprising amount. Total was 340 hits. Un-frigging-believable. This puts me at a bit over 9900 total hits and means that after this gets posted if I few people look at it I have the distinct possibility of hitting that 10k goal before the end of Feb!

Dork High-Five!
Yeah - whatever. It's the little things that tickle my fancy.
So, onward.
My first Subscriber: Carmel - who didn't want me to be talking to myself.
My latest subscriber: Liz - Who is an old friend from high-school and followed my links through Facebook and decided to finally "join the cult of grrouch."
December 31st - with a couple of friends subscribing, I ended the year with 12 followers. Through the magic of the internet and with the help of Josie's blog and I have now over doubled that number. Truly more than I thought would happen.
June of last year I started doing this blog as a way to track poker playing with Tony BigCharles, reporting on sessions and keeping track of a challenge that we were doing at the time. Posting links to my blog via his blog and on AVP (this was right after VPN went away) I ended up getting about 1k hits.
July - October I didn't update nearly as much because my poker playing cut WAYYYYyyy back and the total of those 4 months was about equal to June, about 1k hits.
Then, in November I started writing a little bit more, and more consistently and have actually stuck with it since then. November saw me with over 1600 hits, December was over 2200 hits and January somewhere around 2400 hits and now February garnered me almost 3k hits (so close but so far away).
In the comments section of my last post Rob from Robvegaspoker asked what was in it for the "subscribers" and to that I really don't know. You all have my eternal gratitude that you find me amusing enough to keep coming back and reading my updates. Over the course of the next year or so I hope to meet every single one of you and at least buy you a beer and probably do some form of gambling with you whether it's playing poker or Pai Gow or craps or whatever. I look forward to continually interacting with you all and eventually meeting you all as most of you probably travel to Las Vegas occasionally.
Greatest Hits: Or Postests with the Mostests
I've come to the realization that linking the right photo (generally from a Google Image Search) tends to give me a decent amount of traffic and this is evidenced by the post with the most views still gets hits to this day because of one particular picture that I included.
My top Posts thus far:
#1 - For The Ladies - Other than it was a love tale told with pictures, the main reason that this is #1 is because of the last picture I included - and oddly enough the #1 searched for term that gets hits on my blog is roofies (which ultimately links to that picture and when clicked on shows my blog). I'd love to know if any of those hits actually look around my blog and if any ever come back. I'll probably never know the answer to that.
#2 - A video game post
#3 - I won my dog in a game of craps
#4 - Great F'n Day
#5 - Cuntcakes
#6 - Case of the Mondays'
#7 - Titty Tuesday
#8 - Pokah on da Weekend
As you can see, two of my recent ones have actually cracked the 100 page view mark which is pretty awesome. The other thing that I notice with my top choices is that there really isn't a consistent pattern of what I post about. It's not like the top posts are filled up with all poker talk (which I kind of expected being that most of you are poker related friends).
The sights that drive the most traffic to my blog?
Very Josie's site #1 - so a big mua to you love.
2nd is Cheapassgamer.com - which I generally only link to my blog when I have video game related posts.
3rd is google.com
4th is allvegaspoker - and generally I only link to the poker related stuff - though I suppose I should cross post there more often as I do have a unused "blog" there as well
5th is - sevencard2003's blog
6th is - robvegaspoker's blog - and I note that it will surpass TBC's blog within a month or so!
7th is -google UK
8th is - Facebook - I usually update Twitter and Facebook when I post - NetworkBlogs has been doing that for me now
9th is - Mobile Facebook - ditto the above.
So, more than you guys really needed (or wanted) to know there.
Top Search Terms
Roofies
Boobies
Grrouchie
Evil Cat
Ok - That's enough to bore you all for now. If you are just waking up after falling asleep to all that crap, please wipe the drool off your chin and maybe clean your keyboard off.
If you actually read all this - You are a fucking dork too.
This wasn't well thought out our planned out and next time I do one of these it will be formatted better and maybe be easier to read over.
Hope you all enjoyed this statistical breakdown of my blog (right).

On Writing
Here's the thing - this whole blogging experiment which I have gone through several times and then quit when I got bored of it is more to get me to write more than to actually interact with people.
Do not get me wrong, it tickles my fancy to no end when I see that someone has actually taken the time out of their day to not only stop by and read what I have to say, but to comment on it in some way as well.
I've always fancied myself as being the creative type in some manner, but I have never been able to harness the power so to speak. I generally have ideas floating around in my head but I always feel that it comes off horrible when I try to put it to paper.
I used to write a lot in high-school, short stories and what not. Then college I found myself taking some creative writing courses just so that I could write more. I enjoyed them a lot but when they were done so was I.
This past Xmas (I know, it was so long ago) I found myself gifted with a Kindle Fire which has really started putting me back into the reading mood. I have gone through 2 novels by C.S. Splitter, a collection of short stories by S.J. Moyer and A short story by Stephen King and am now working my way through The Dark Tower Part 7.
The more I read the more I have this desire to write which explains the frequency of which I update this little corner of my internet universe. However, what I would really like to do is get to the point where I can take the demons in my head and craft them into honest-to-goodness short stories to share with my friends (and potentially have them not suck).
So, I think that I'm going to have to start looking for books on the craft of writing. I'd like to read about how others approach the idea of a story. It has to start somewhere (that is after your original idea). How do people do it though? Do you map out your ideas in a time line? Do you make a flow chart of different characters and idea's and plot devices and then just somehow connect them all? Do you just sit down and type and see what comes out and then figure out a way to work it all together after the fact?
If anyone has any advice or can point me to something that they think would be a good read on the subject I'd love to hear about it.
Now, back to The Dark Tower so that Very Josie and Tricia Kristufek don't continue to brow beat me about not having finished it. :)
