StepBet
Week 5 of 6 is completed with StepBet and I'm still in the running.
I made sure to knock out everything I needed before the SuperBowl so that I could have a nice relaxing day. After the Superbowl I still had to do a 45 minute walk to make sure I got my 10k in but all is good. I am keeping track of my Steps for the year in a separate tab that you can get from the main page or you can follow it here. I am updating it weekly to make it easier for me to keep track of.
Self Improvement Spreadsheet
I'm not sure what to think as it has only been one week. After finishing the first week I was at 71% which is about what I'm supposed to aim for. Anything less means it is too difficult and once you are hitting 90+ consistently then it is too easy. I feel that leaving my goals at what they are for the entire month I'll jump up to that 90 percentile but at the same time I don't want to start changing them just to make it more difficult on myself. There were several spots that I missed only due to illness or just because I didn't feel like putting my focus in that direction and changing two things would have put me in the mid to high 80's.
Whatever, this is a learning process and I'm along for the ride long haul.
I don't want to dig too deeply into it and I figure I'll do that after the first month.
The Super Bowl
I hadn't placed a sports bet for a while and I was not planning on betting on the game but the day before the Super Bowl my mother called me and asked me if I was interested in betting on the game. At first I thought she meant that she wanted to make a wager against me for something but after a brief conversation it turned out she was interested in putting money on the actual game and wanted to know if I'd go in on the bet with her. Her only other previous bet was a random occasion when she gave a friend $10 to place a future bet on the Steelers to win the Super Bowl and that just so happened to bet the year that we went and beat the Cardinals so her bet paid off.
However, she knows nothing about sports betting so I had to explain some things to her. She told me to think about it and get back to her with whatever bet I wanted to make, she would leave that in my hands.
At the time we had that conversation she was talking about each of us putting up $50 and just seeing what happened so when I called her back and said i'd be willing to place the $100 bet she said "ok, $100 for each of us" and I'll be damned if I'm going to let my mother seem like she has more balls than I do so I agree'd to it.
I told her that I decided I wanted to bet the Eagles on the money line just because I felt like either team could pull this game out based on their offenses and that the bet had the best payout odds. I had thought about parlaying it up with the Over but my balls were not big enough to do that with a $200 bet which was by far the largest I have ever wagered on any game or even spread out over all my bets at one time.
I'm happy to report that everything worked out well in the end and now I just have to wait until I hit up a Station Casino so that I can cash out my winnings and pay my Mother off.
Hope y'all are having a great week and hopefully I have something more entertaining to write about than this boring crap next time my fingers get the itch.

My Biggest Win was my Worst Failure
So this weekend, in the realm of sports betting, was my biggest payoff so far.
After my parlay tickets were all lined up I ended up getting paid out (including getting my bets back) almost Two Hundred Bucks.
My biggest payoff before that was about $65.
How I ended up getting there was via 3 parlay cards all cashing based on the Eagles winning by 6.5 or greater (and me forgetting to hit the casino on the way to work to hedge to guarantee myself some profit).
I hit two 3 Team Parlays and a 5 team parlay
Broncos -11.5, Cowboys -7.5 and Eagles -6.5.
Chiefs +1, 49ers +5.5 and Eagles -6.5
Broncos -11.5, Cardinals -7, Packers -7.5, Seahawks -9.5 and Eagles -6.5
All that added up to me having a balance of $199 and some change in my Sports Connection (Station Casinos Sports Betting App) account.
Am I happy? Well hell yeah I am because I started by just putting $50 bucks in the account around the start of the football season so this means that while I haven't been amazingly successful I am also not losing money.
However, I did not come here to brag about me being slightly better than break even over the course of 10 weeks. I came here, instead, to tell you how this weekend was such a failure.
I didn't even realize it until I went over every single one of my cards.
For the record, I only had 4 other cards and a total of $35 actual money riding on Sunday.
I lost a 3 teamer which had the Ravens, Steelers and Eagles.
I lost a 4 teamer that had the Chiefs, Packers, Steelers and Eagles.
I lost a 5 teamer that had the Broncos, Steelers, Packers, Eagles and Ravens.
I lost an 8 teamer that had the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, Cowboys, Steelers, Falcons, 49ers and Eagles.
You all see the common denominator right?
The Steelers.
The ONLY team I picked wrong all weekend long was my own team, which I'm OK with.
I am just annoyed that I only got ONE team wrong. Normally I have two or 3 spread out.
However, that one team cost me pretty big.
3 team payout (including getting my money back) is about 35 bucks.
4 team payout would be about 65 bucks.
5 team payout would be about 130 payout.
8 team payout would be about 750.
I missed out on about $955 extra because the Steelers Sucked it up against a team they should have beaten pretty badly.
So, instead of having an $1155 weekend I had a $200 weekend.
I want to be happy about it, I just fucking can't bring myself to do it right now.
Next week - that's where the money will be waiting for me!!!

Fame or Shame Week 9 Results
Week 9 is in the books and this time almost everyone actually picked a winner.
Tony decided to go against the evil empire and pick the Broncos to crush the Patriots and we see how that worked out and two guys were foolish enough to believe that the 49ers are a powerhouse and would destroy an in division opponent.
Nobody went with the Mighty Miami Dolphins who would have given you a 47 point boost, 23 points more than the next best coach and automatic contention.
Bill R pulled back into 2nd place, but the battle is tight.

Fame or Shame Week 8 Results
When your top 6 teams all pick losers and not much changes you know they had a good lead over the rest of the pack.
However, Nick and his pick of the Cheifs boosted him the whole way up to 4th place and in contention.
Randy and Sergio picking the Dolphins put them back into the thick of things as well.
The Surprise is Mauri who was almost a the bottom just a few weeks ago is now sitting in 10th position and ready to strike after picking the Patriots

Fame or Shame Week 8
Welcome to Dallas Cowboys Week.
It's not until after the top 5 that anyone has a chance to catch up, will it be the right move to go with a different team or will the top 5 pull further ahead?

Fame or Shame Week 7 results
So here are the week 7 results and current standings.
First I want to give a big shout out to the Seattle Seahawks for being picked by 4 of the top 6 teams (including the guy who was temporarily ahead of me for a whole one week) and allowing me to re-take 1st place.
Seattle was my 12th man this week.
Second, I want to thank the Browns for being the Browns. Destroying my team one game and then losing to one of the worst teams in the league the next. That win over Pittsburgh was so decisive that it caused a few people to actually pick you this week and you totally cost them big time.
To Carnell for picking the Texans because he forgot to pick this weekend and then decided that Pittsburgh sucks. Carnell, you are in last place. You are the only guy still in the negative.
You are losing to a guy who hasn't made a pick in multiple weeks and once picked a team on a buy week. Carnell - You Suck :)
