I know that there currently is not anything interesting that I can say about my poker sessions, poker wise. I've been out of the game for entirely too long and my game is rusty. I've been talking with a buddy in Pennsylvania about both of us picking a night or two during the month to head out to the casino and text back and forth any information or updates from our sessions. Kind of like a little challenge to go with someone and see who does better.
So far this has gone as far as agreeing that we should do it, we have yet to actually do a session.
My thought is that the texts back and forth along with random Facebook and Twitter updates along with my notepad (whether on physical paper or on my phone/tablet) will provide me with information to jog my memory so that I can make blog post updates.
I love writing and I miss it, it's just that when I feel like writing I am usually at work or not near the house to do it. When I have downtime at home I really don't feel like writing. It's a bit frustrating at times.
So, let's get into my last session which I took notes on.

Before I even make it to the casino to play some poker I say fuck this place.
On the bottom floor of the parking garage some douche bag speeds up to pass me because 20 feet in front of me are his two old as fuck hippy douche bag friends walking in the opposite direction. So in order to stop and pick up these friends we risk an accident and block traffic in both directions for 2 minutes instead of just fucking waiting.
Fuck The Orleans.
On the walk to the casino, after parking, an old Asian broad bugs me asking where the entrance was. I pointed in the general direction and she bitched that there weren't any close parking spots because, you know, we'd hate to actually have to walk any sort of distance before we went and blew all of our money playing Pai-Gow or Baccarat or whatever the fuck it is that old Asian fucks blow there wad at these days.
Fuck the Orleans.
Thirty seconds later a Mariachi performer walks by me. What is wrong with this world? Who performs Mariachi at the Orleans? I hope he got some good tips but probably not as he looked anxious to get the hell out of there.
The Elevator smells like baby shit. It doesn't quite hit you until after the doors close and you start moving and I am sure this is on purpose so that you don't change your mind and leave for someplace more upscale.
At this point I am not exactly sure what had drug me to this dog forsaken place and more importantly why the hell did none of the above give me the idea that I needed to leave an go someplace better.
Walking into the Poker Room there is one guy watching movies on his tablet. I observe another table where three people are wearing headphones and another is constantly holding a napkin over his mouth as if this will allow him to not catch the rampant zombieism that is transferred from one person to another by just simply breathing the same air at The Orleans. You can almost feel their souls being sucked out of their bodies in order to go find something more fun to do.
Why the fuck did I come here again?
9:25 PM - The, I can only assume, torture begins.
I got seated at a table that has one guy younger than I am, one guy in my age bracket and the douche bag watching movies. There are only two sets of headphones being utilized at this table but there is one guy who looks like he is waiting o die or for aces, whichever happens to come first. He also looks like he was big into chewing tobacco as one side of his jaw sits substantially lower than the other. He is wearing a hat that says Purple Heart and has a Purple Heart pin attached to it. Maybe his jaw got shot in Nam...er... WW1.
The guy to my right just called for the Ace of Jacks as the next card and used the word, and I mean word as in singular, youknowwatimean?
The young guy is short, not in stature but in stack, keeps his eyes on his phone and is wearing either shades or really dark corrective lenses. Ace of Jacks is drinking and wearing shades as his future is probably pretty bright.
The Cocktease waitress shows up and I ask what is bottled. She tells me most anything. I ask for a Blue Moon and she tells me that they don't serve wheat beers, fucking beer racists. I get a Sam Adams and pray for a quick double so I can get the hell out of here. grrouch: 0, stupidity: 1.
Slack Jawed Grampa raises to 17 and gets 3 callers, I figure he probably stacks off if I set. however I am 97% sure he flops top set with an Axx flop. I fold as he bets damned near pot. Next hand he gets to the river by calling down with a pair of 3's in his hand and rivers a set. Maybe Grampa isn't 100% as tight as I thought.
After being here an orbit Tablet has played one hand. He was in the big blind and Redneck raises to $11 in late position. Tablet pushes all i for $111. No Flop Allowed.
Gradpa flops top set and Redneck pays off every bet as he thought he flopped a straight. He even looked at his hand post flop and still somehow thought he had a straight. Da-Fuq?
10:03 - Down $26 after the first dealer. Won one very minor hand against the young kid and folded a lot of random hands.
It is at this point that someone fucking farted. I don't know if it was someone sitting at the table or if it was someone who was walking behind me. What I do know is that it was a horribly obnoxious fart that rivaled the smell in the elevator. What is wrong with people. If you feel like your ass is going to explode you need to walk away from the poker room to the casino. Then you expel your ass gas and come back. Everyone will be happier because of it.
I've got my blue tooth headset half on/half off. One ear is listening to Mycroft Holmes and I point this out because my headset just died. I did bring a pair of regular headphones at the last minute as a Just In Case and I have never done that before. Was I telling myself subliminally that I was going to need a distraction from this hell hole?
I fold a hand as Tablet bets, I don't trust a guy who pauses his movie to play a hand.
I wish I would have remembered that I don't particularly like Sam Adams and ordered something else. And with no Blue Moon I just don't know what I want for my next brew. Maybe they have some fruity brews?
Redneck limped Aces early, did not get a re-raise opportunity.
The cocktease waitress shows up and I ask if they have any Redds Apple Ale and she responds with "We have New Castle and Guiness for Dark Beers." I am now Oh for Two ordering beers and this chick shows her intelligence.
Instead I order a Mich Ultra as I watch Redneck double a guy who flopped an obvious flush but he just couldn't get away from his Aces. Redneck leaves and I am sad. Others are sad as well but I really don't give two shits about their feelings.
I take Rednecks vacated seat. A new guy sits in my old seat and first hand he gets aces and doubles up against a bad player.
Fuck Poker.
Fuck the Orleans.
10:31 - A new dealer Arrives.
I won two hands during the last down and am now down only $25. I had an enormous $1 profit during that last half hour. King of the World yo!
Another way of looking at it, my beers are currently costing me $12.50 each - but that way is more depressing so lets not go there right now.
Grampa raises, gets a few callers and everyone goes away on the flop when he continuation bets. I guess everyone is set mining the guy they all consider to be a horrible nit. If Grampa loosened up he could just walk over all of us.
11:01 - New Dealer
Down $50. I was up to only down $4 after winning the only hand I won and I think the only hand I played. However a shorty calling my raise pre-flop with J8 off put the kabah on that comeback.
Still hating it.
Still praying just to get to even.
Tablets movie must be over because out of the blue he decided to hold a conversation with the two people near him. After the conversation is over he leaves the table. I would love to know what amazing conversation such a guy has after watching an entire movie and not saying a bloody thing the entire time.
There is a random guy walking buy calling himself The Drunken Monkey saying that the table he just left doesn't want him bak. It appears that his parting prose involved telling someone at the table to perform the role of a vacuum on his testi, much like they just performed the same role on his chips.

I just played a hand against Grampa instead of the guy who is currently occupying the seat. That cost me a few bucks. When did Grampa leave? Furthermore why had I not noticed.
I am tired and my attention stopped being paid. I need to cut out soon before I donate my entire stack and go home depressed, and not just for going to the Fucking Orleans.
11:30 - A new Dealer sits and somehow I count my chips and find I am up $8. I'm not 100% sure what happened that has me on the positive side. That isn't a good sign.
11:32 I rack up and quit when the blinds hit. The hand before I quit I flop a flush and milk a few chips off a guy who finally violently folds when the 4th flush card hits thinking I just trumped him.
Plus 53 bucks.
So my actual poker bankroll stands at $53 bucks and some money I borrowed from living expenses just to get out and play for a bit.

Back to the Gym says the Fattie
I'm sitting here listening to what ultimately is my Favorite Iron Maiden album mostly by virtue of nostalgia as it was the first I ever owned and the one I listed to the most, No Prayer for the Dying.
I just got back from my first trip to the gym this year which will be the first of many. I'm still not close to the 300 plus pound buffoon that I was a couple of years ago but I am also not close to where I was when I got married less than 2 years ago.
So, it is once again time to buckle down and work towards being where I want to be.
For the most part, like previously, I'm just going to be doing cardio - 99% on the elliptical. I don't want to be slim and muscular, I just want to lose weight and keep it off. I want to be healthier for my family so that I can enjoy watching my kids grow old. I mean, shit, I'm going to be close to retirement by the time my boy graduates high school for crying out loud.
With that in mind I want to be able to get myself to the point where I can do half a marathon on the elliptical before the year is over with the ultimate goal being the ability to do a marathon on the elliptical in the distant future. DISTANT, as in I'm not even quantifying how far away it is under current circumstances.
I'm going to use the first couple of weeks to ease myself back into it and as such today I decided that I was only going to go for 30 minutes and I did 2.5 miles give or take. I'm going to work myself back up to doing 45 minutes to an hour consistently.
From there I'll work on getting my lungs better so that I can endure a couple of longer workouts from time to time.
Since a 5k is just a little over 3 miles I know that I'll be able to easily do this before February is over.
My major goal for Feb is to be able to do a full hour without killing myself.
After that I'll figure out how to work towards doing 10k (or 6.2 miles).
What is everyone else doing this year to get into shape or stay in shape?

A New Post, For Reals
It has been quite a while since I have typed up anything that wasn't related to a fantasy football status.
It has been about a year and what a year it has been.
Lately I have been thinking about writing a couple of updates but I've just never gotten around to it. Life has been super busy.
As everyone was aware of before I took a hiatus (because I wouldn't shut up about it) I had gotten married and produced an mini-grrouch.
That mini grrouch is now almost 1 year old and has dominated my entire life since last January.
Having a child is the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. He brings a smile to my face every time I think about him.
Even if I am having a horribly crappy day, the moment I get home and see my baby it all goes away. My heart is warmed and my mood is happy. I am more in love with this child than I knew was even possible.
So, a few pictures from the past year.
This won't be a long post but hopefully there won't be a huge gap between then again.

Wrestlemania 31
Well I'd feel pretty bad if I went a whole month and didn't put up a single post, and it's not like I don't have a lot that I can talk about. It's just that when I am home, pretty much the only thing I want to do is play with my baby. I am so infatuated.
However, since I have other things I need to distract myself with and tomorrow is filled with Wrestlemania I thought that I'd sit down and compose my thoughts on the subject.
What I want to happen and what I think is going to happen since they generally are two different things. Also, it is quite comforting to see that a bunch of people on my Book of Face are also wrestling fans (some of them going to see the event live Balt99 - I want a write up) I thought that maybe other people would like to hear my rambling and tell me that they think I'm an idiot.
So let's start with the pre-show.
WWE 4 Way Tag Team Championship Match.
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (champs) vs The Usos vs The New Day vs Los Matadores
First off - this is just a total filler match which is why it was sent back to the pre-show and not actually put on Wrestlemania and that is because pretty much no one cares. There is no love for the Tag Division as they have manufactured teams that are built on people who WWE either didn't know how to get over, couldn't get over themselves or were just mismanaged and thrown together randomly.
Starting with the Champs - Cesaro is prime example of a guy that was ruined by booking. He was very over with the fans and then won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal in amazing fashion so the next thing you know instead of doing a face run like they should have he was booked to continue being a bad guy and stop doing anything that the crowd actually liked. One year later after countless losses he ends up part of the Tag Champs with another guy who is a singles competitor.
The Usos are the only real tag team here. Nobody gives a damn about Los Matadores as they are just filler material and comic relief with that El Turito.
The New Day is just a bad conglomerate and the crowd doesn't care at all. Big E was a failed push and champion because he has no charisma. Kofi is a guy the crowd loves to watch do fun and amazing things but hasn't gotten a push in a long long time, and Xavier Woods never should have been broken away from Titus even though I hated their team and thought they were horrible (but they both sucked as singles even worse).
So what will probably happen? - Cesaro and Kidd keep the belts because there is NO REASON to put it back on The Uso's and neither of the other teams is worth a damn.
What should happen? - Ascension should have been booked in here (and should have been booked more like they were when they were in NXT) and they should have come away with the titles and booked in a way that showed them as a force to be reckoned with instead of some joke tag team that constantly loses. Because that can't happen I'm going to say that Ascension should interfere in this match at some point laying out all competitors and letting the match go undecided.
Match 2 - Andre the Giant Battle Royal
What will happen - All signs point to either Shamus making his return and winning or Mizdow turning on Miz to win instead of letting Miz win.
What Should Happen - This should have been on the main card instead of on the Pre-Show but we get what we get I guess - this is why I pay my $9.99 per month. Mizdow should win by turning on Miz to have his wrestlemania moment and set up a fun feud while putting him back in the upper mid card to fight for the US or Intercontinental belts for a while. I've heard a rumor that their break-up will set up a match between the two of them for the main card and I am 100% in approval of that.
Before we get to the main matches - What The Hell did the booking team do by just blowing off the Star Dust/Gold Dust feud which was supposed to end at mania? I was hoping that would lead to a push for Star Dust and the retirement of the gold freak.
Aj Less and Paige vs the Bella's
What will probably happen? Bella's win because of in-fighting on the other teams part
What Should Happen? - They give this match 15 minutes and let the ladies work and put on a real show instead of a 2-5 minute crappy Diva match that the WWE does 99% of the time.
Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton
What will probably happen? - This is one of those weird ones because I think the result of this match is entirely dependent on the booking of the main event. I think if Reigns wins and remains a face then Rollins cashes in to leave the champion which means he loses to Orton. If he is not going to cash in I think Rollins finds a way to beat Orton.
What Should Happen - Rollins is the best heel on the roster right now and he is majorly over in that role. He should look like the prototypical bad guy but because he is so over he doesn't need a victory here. Orton should probably get the nod but they get attacked after the match so they can continue their feud for another PPV or two.
Intercontinental Ladder Match
Ziggler vs Bryan vs Barrett vs Ambrose vs Stardust vs Harper vs R-Truth
What will probably happen? - This one could go a bunch of different ways especially if the WWE wants to restore any prestige to this belt. Based on Booking either Bad News himself will walk out with it or Bryan will win it (based on losing cleanly the last two matches he has been in).
What Should Happen? - As much as I love Bad News they need to get the title off of him because WWE booking as completely ruined him right now and his title run (and the belt for that matter) by making him lose pretty much every frigging match since becoming a champion. Because of this they need to put the belt on one of the best two workers in the company and let them WIN lots of matches instead of losing matches and should also carry the belt for a long time before finally losing it.
Bryan and Ziggler make the most sense here but I could see them giving Ambrose the rub as well (even though they never seem to let him win PPV matches any more).
Give one of those 3 the title and let them run though everyone in some amazing feuds leading up to another main event push and maybe title shot leading into next years wrestlemania.
Because the truth is, other than R-Truth, this match features a large portion of the future main even players of WWE's future if they were to actually do things
U.S. Title Match
Cena vs Rusev
What will probably happen? - Cena wins cleanly like he almost always does at Mania and takes the title and this is a shitty ending
What should happen? - Rusev beats Cena cleanly on the biggest PPV of them all. Cena doesn't need a win and Cena doesn't need a minor title to carry around. Rusev, while being booked as a monster hell, Will come off AMAZING here with another win over Cena. This could actually propel Rusev to the main event roster like WWE seemingly wants. He is the #2 heel in the company right now under Rollins and when he loses it should either be WITH the WWE World Title or to the man that has it. Not to a guy that gets overbooked even though his reputation will never be tarnished at this point.
Could you imagine Rusev vs Lesnar (when Brock goes face) as a Beast vs Beast show down?
Undertaker vs Wyatt
What will probably happen? - Wyatt is the ONLY thing going on for this match. I get that people still love Taker even tough he is over the hill and used up like a condom on prom night but Wyatt has carried this feud by himself with no help from Taker and for that reason alone I think they will book him to win.
What should happen? - Wyatt should win - he deserves it and I think he needs it. Based off of how far he fell off last year when Cena beat Wyatt at Mania (which was just bad booking) and then WWE Creative fell off and dropped Wyatt to the mid-card with bad booking, for that reason alone Wyatt needs to win. Wyatt is the best tweener that they have. Booked to be a bad guy but cheered because he is an amazing worker and awesome on the mic. Wyatt needs this win.
Sting vs HHH
Both are the same - Sting will win in what is hopefully an entertaining match from two guys who's prime is way behind them. Sting is approaching 60 at this point, I just hope they can pull off entertainment before he goes over Hunter.
WWE World Heavy Weight Championship Match
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
What Will Probably Happen? - Roman Reigns wins and nobody is happy
What Should Happen? - Roman Reigns does NOT leave the building with the belt. I am happy with any ending that does not have Reigns carry the title.
If Reigns wins then Rollins needs to cash in and walk out the champ.
Here is the problem, The Fans are going to react opposite how WWE wants them to almost no matter what. If Brock wins he will get cheered because the fans hate Reigns. If Reigns wins the fans will boo the good guy. If Reigns wins and Rollins cashes they they will Cheer Rollins, the most over Heel on the roster. All 3 of those have the fans reacting the opposite way they should.
So, that means that WWE needs to do the double turn here and have Heyman align himself with Reigns causing Reigns to go heel and Brock to go face. Reigns needs a guy like Heyman who can do all the talking like he has done for Brock for awhile now. If anyone can get Reigns credible then it is Heyman.
Even in this scenerio (which reigns has to get the title to make the double turn successful) I hate the idea of Reigns walking out with the title but at least he'll be getting boo'd like he is a bad guy instead of just getting boo'd because the fans don't like the guy as "the face of the company."
Long winded and probably boring but it sure was fun to type for awhile again.
If I do this again next year I'll skip the stupid matches and only talk about the ones I actually care about.

First off - this is just a total filler match which is why it was sent back to the pre-show and not actually put on Wrestlemania and that is because pretty much no one cares. There is no love for the Tag Division as they have manufactured teams that are built on people who WWE either didn't know how to get over, couldn't get over themselves or were just mismanaged and thrown together randomly.
Starting with the Champs - Cesaro is prime example of a guy that was ruined by booking. He was very over with the fans and then won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal in amazing fashion so the next thing you know instead of doing a face run like they should have he was booked to continue being a bad guy and stop doing anything that the crowd actually liked. One year later after countless losses he ends up part of the Tag Champs with another guy who is a singles competitor.
The Usos are the only real tag team here. Nobody gives a damn about Los Matadores as they are just filler material and comic relief with that El Turito.
The New Day is just a bad conglomerate and the crowd doesn't care at all. Big E was a failed push and champion because he has no charisma. Kofi is a guy the crowd loves to watch do fun and amazing things but hasn't gotten a push in a long long time, and Xavier Woods never should have been broken away from Titus even though I hated their team and thought they were horrible (but they both sucked as singles even worse).
So what will probably happen? - Cesaro and Kidd keep the belts because there is NO REASON to put it back on The Uso's and neither of the other teams is worth a damn.
What should happen? - Ascension should have been booked in here (and should have been booked more like they were when they were in NXT) and they should have come away with the titles and booked in a way that showed them as a force to be reckoned with instead of some joke tag team that constantly loses. Because that can't happen I'm going to say that Ascension should interfere in this match at some point laying out all competitors and letting the match go undecided.
Match 2 - Andre the Giant Battle Royal
What will happen - All signs point to either Shamus making his return and winning or Mizdow turning on Miz to win instead of letting Miz win.
What Should Happen - This should have been on the main card instead of on the Pre-Show but we get what we get I guess - this is why I pay my $9.99 per month. Mizdow should win by turning on Miz to have his wrestlemania moment and set up a fun feud while putting him back in the upper mid card to fight for the US or Intercontinental belts for a while. I've heard a rumor that their break-up will set up a match between the two of them for the main card and I am 100% in approval of that.
Before we get to the main matches - What The Hell did the booking team do by just blowing off the Star Dust/Gold Dust feud which was supposed to end at mania? I was hoping that would lead to a push for Star Dust and the retirement of the gold freak.
Aj Less and Paige vs the Bella's
What will probably happen? Bella's win because of in-fighting on the other teams part
What Should Happen? - They give this match 15 minutes and let the ladies work and put on a real show instead of a 2-5 minute crappy Diva match that the WWE does 99% of the time.
Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton
What will probably happen? - This is one of those weird ones because I think the result of this match is entirely dependent on the booking of the main event. I think if Reigns wins and remains a face then Rollins cashes in to leave the champion which means he loses to Orton. If he is not going to cash in I think Rollins finds a way to beat Orton.
What Should Happen - Rollins is the best heel on the roster right now and he is majorly over in that role. He should look like the prototypical bad guy but because he is so over he doesn't need a victory here. Orton should probably get the nod but they get attacked after the match so they can continue their feud for another PPV or two.
Intercontinental Ladder Match
Ziggler vs Bryan vs Barrett vs Ambrose vs Stardust vs Harper vs R-Truth
What will probably happen? - This one could go a bunch of different ways especially if the WWE wants to restore any prestige to this belt. Based on Booking either Bad News himself will walk out with it or Bryan will win it (based on losing cleanly the last two matches he has been in).
What Should Happen? - As much as I love Bad News they need to get the title off of him because WWE booking as completely ruined him right now and his title run (and the belt for that matter) by making him lose pretty much every frigging match since becoming a champion. Because of this they need to put the belt on one of the best two workers in the company and let them WIN lots of matches instead of losing matches and should also carry the belt for a long time before finally losing it.
Bryan and Ziggler make the most sense here but I could see them giving Ambrose the rub as well (even though they never seem to let him win PPV matches any more).
Give one of those 3 the title and let them run though everyone in some amazing feuds leading up to another main event push and maybe title shot leading into next years wrestlemania.
Because the truth is, other than R-Truth, this match features a large portion of the future main even players of WWE's future if they were to actually do things
U.S. Title Match
Cena vs Rusev
What will probably happen? - Cena wins cleanly like he almost always does at Mania and takes the title and this is a shitty ending
What should happen? - Rusev beats Cena cleanly on the biggest PPV of them all. Cena doesn't need a win and Cena doesn't need a minor title to carry around. Rusev, while being booked as a monster hell, Will come off AMAZING here with another win over Cena. This could actually propel Rusev to the main event roster like WWE seemingly wants. He is the #2 heel in the company right now under Rollins and when he loses it should either be WITH the WWE World Title or to the man that has it. Not to a guy that gets overbooked even though his reputation will never be tarnished at this point.
Could you imagine Rusev vs Lesnar (when Brock goes face) as a Beast vs Beast show down?
Undertaker vs Wyatt
What will probably happen? - Wyatt is the ONLY thing going on for this match. I get that people still love Taker even tough he is over the hill and used up like a condom on prom night but Wyatt has carried this feud by himself with no help from Taker and for that reason alone I think they will book him to win.
What should happen? - Wyatt should win - he deserves it and I think he needs it. Based off of how far he fell off last year when Cena beat Wyatt at Mania (which was just bad booking) and then WWE Creative fell off and dropped Wyatt to the mid-card with bad booking, for that reason alone Wyatt needs to win. Wyatt is the best tweener that they have. Booked to be a bad guy but cheered because he is an amazing worker and awesome on the mic. Wyatt needs this win.
Sting vs HHH
Both are the same - Sting will win in what is hopefully an entertaining match from two guys who's prime is way behind them. Sting is approaching 60 at this point, I just hope they can pull off entertainment before he goes over Hunter.
WWE World Heavy Weight Championship Match
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
What Will Probably Happen? - Roman Reigns wins and nobody is happy
What Should Happen? - Roman Reigns does NOT leave the building with the belt. I am happy with any ending that does not have Reigns carry the title.
If Reigns wins then Rollins needs to cash in and walk out the champ.
Here is the problem, The Fans are going to react opposite how WWE wants them to almost no matter what. If Brock wins he will get cheered because the fans hate Reigns. If Reigns wins the fans will boo the good guy. If Reigns wins and Rollins cashes they they will Cheer Rollins, the most over Heel on the roster. All 3 of those have the fans reacting the opposite way they should.
So, that means that WWE needs to do the double turn here and have Heyman align himself with Reigns causing Reigns to go heel and Brock to go face. Reigns needs a guy like Heyman who can do all the talking like he has done for Brock for awhile now. If anyone can get Reigns credible then it is Heyman.
Even in this scenerio (which reigns has to get the title to make the double turn successful) I hate the idea of Reigns walking out with the title but at least he'll be getting boo'd like he is a bad guy instead of just getting boo'd because the fans don't like the guy as "the face of the company."
Long winded and probably boring but it sure was fun to type for awhile again.
If I do this again next year I'll skip the stupid matches and only talk about the ones I actually care about.
Right now my 9 year old is watching wrestling all day long to prepare for watching Wrestlemania and doesn't understand why I don't want to watch with him lol. Children.

Thank God It's Friday
The 13th
Today has been a very lazy day because I happened to wake up with back pain. My wife says it's my psychotic nerve and gave me a good rub down a couple of times, threw a heating pad on me and showed me some stretches to do that will help with the issue.
Either way, the pain I was in this morning sucked and I'm glad that it has let up a bit. Still hurts if I move the wrong way and sitting in certain positions doesn't feel too good but I will live to fight another day.
I am just hoping it feels better tomorrow because walking around work all day long feeling like this is going to suck, not to mention tomorrow is National VD and all.
So, while I was being lazy today I decided to finally sit down and beat the game on my 3DS that I started playing sometime in December. Considering the only gaming time I have gotten in is on portable devices it just goes to show how much this little tiny human spawn has cut into my gaming time. When I could normally be playing a game I find myself staring a this creation of mine in awe and wonder, but that's a good thing.
So In Love.
Final play time (per the save file) to beat the game and get ONE of the endings is 50 hours 5 minutes and 24 seconds. My 3DS shows me that I've spent nearly 60 hours playing the game (because when I am in battle for 45 minutes and die that time goes to a void that does not get counted and I have to start from my last save).
The game is Devil Survivor: Overclocked and I'm quite happy with it. I started playing Devil Survivor sometime around 2009 or 2010 when it first game out and I was on my original DS and had an R4 card that I was bringing to work so that I could let my customers try some games out as kind of an In House Demo and also put music on there because a quiet store is a boring store.
Needless to say I started playing Devil Survivor to try it out for myself and absolutely loved the game except for the fact that when I got to the first real boss I could not beat him for anything. I probably tried about 20 times or so before giving up and putting the game to rest.
Years later the 3DS comes out with a re-mastered version with full voice acting and an extra day tacked on to the end that added extra endings and I decided to give it a go again.
It wasn't until I hit the first boss again that I remembered why I stopped playing it to begin with. However this time I did a little extra level grinding and I stuck with it and I got through it. After beating the game I am happy that I did because this game was simply a joy to play.
There is a Devil Survivor 2 out and I actually own it and was going to jump into it but doing a random search came up with Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker which is their re-mastered version of the game that adds extra stuff and a ton of extra play time (based on what I am reading online) which almost doubles the length of the game.
Also based on what I am reading is that I can import my old save from the vanilla game and jump right into the extra content or I can start a new save but I think I am just going to sell off/trade in the vanilla version and wait for the new version to come out before getting to it.
In the meantime I need to move on to another handheld game and after a lot of debating I think I have decided to go with Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita. This is most likely going to be another long journey and I really don't expect to be done with it for a couple of months because based on what I know it's pretty easy to sink 100 hours into the game.
I'd like to also go back to DS: Overclocked to get some of the other endings but I probably won't do that. Either way it's nice to get a game beat this year and I am looking forward to getting back my console systems so that I can finish Shadow of Mordor and a few other games that I have been looking forward to like Dragon Age and The Walking Dead Telltale games.

Fame or Shame - Super Bowl
It is Super Bowl weekend

It's Super Sunday and the big game is here which leads us to the last game of the year to decide who goes home with the money and who is left with egg on their face.
In what might be a horribly anticlimactic finish nearly everyone near the top is choosing the Patriots.
One lone stand out in Craig O (who is in 4th place) is choosing the Seahawks.
Will the Seahawks have what it takes to propel Craig O from a 4th place - You get your money back and thanks for playing, try again next year this is the boobie prize - to 1st place or will the Seahawks doom him to dropping out of the top 4 allowing Craig T (who smartly chose the Pats to win) to move up and take that money instead.
Either way it looks like Craig is in the money - it is just a matter of what type of payout he can be looking for.
So, since the Pats is so top heavy here are Craig's Scenarios towards a better payout.
Craig O is 38 points out of 1st place
If the Seahawks win by 14 Points there is a Tie for 1st place at 445 points
Having not prepared for this tie before the season (my first time running it and no one brought up the scenario to me earlier - then the only fair way to payout would to be splitting the total of 1st and 2nd place money between the two teams).
If the Seahawks win by by 7 points Craig O would claim 2nd place overtaking Nick by the score of 438 to 435

Game Changer

Fame or Shame Championship Week Results
Another week in the books and another week where the top teams agree'd on who was going to do the butt kicking.
The biggest amount of pain was caused by everyone going for the Colts praying for a big upset to get themselves back into contention.
The games have not gotten easier to pick as the Playoffs roll on and now we come to one final game. We have 4 payouts, who is going to pick who.
I will have my pick locked in on Weds or Thursday (feel free to get your picks to me after that) and I will communicate it to a couple of the people who are no longer relevant in this whole competition.
Superbowl is your last chance and last years Superbowl taught us that miracles can happen, but I'm honestly not seeing a blowout again.
For Shits and Giggles
If last years blow out fest were to happen again with the top team picking the loser then there would be an 80 point swing.
If the stars aligned properly and the top 4 people picked the Loser and #5 picked the winner then #5 could be propelled to 1st place.
So here is where we all stand. 80 point swings are unlikely but they were just as unlikely last year and still happened. Some of you still have a chance to hit the money and some of you are just fighting to make it look like you didn't suck as bad as you actually did at picking these games.
After the Super Bowl results I plan on creating a separate website for this "league" and putting people's records and our inaugural winner.
Next year I will have this more streamlined and will find a free app that everyone can use to make their picks so that we don't have to rely on texting and emailing. I will only have to update by hand for the point scores. And hopefully we can grow a little.

Fame or Shame - Championship Round
We are two weeks away from seeing who the men were and who the boys are.
There are a lot of teams that need some upsets to go there way to get into the money and their picks reflect that desperation.

All is Quiet
The house is currently quiet.
While her job might not know it at this point my wife is done working for the next four months. She was supposed to work today and tomorrow but she just physically cannot do it, and probably mentally as well. She is tired, she is weighed down. She has this big baby inside her currently waiting to come out and be welcomed into the world and into our lives and this is just 8 days away.
Eight days until everything changes.
Eight days left to enjoy the quiet, the calm. There is a storm a'brewin' and that storm is another member of the grrouch household.
This past weekend everyone in my family (except myself) was sick. Both the wife and son slept the entire weekend away save for a few moments to turn the TV on or have a light snack before falling back to sleep. This weekend was supposed to be about getting the house back into order but, as they say, the best laid plans of mice and men.
Last week we had laminate put into the bedrooms. This all happened while I was working my week of inventory and even though we knew it was happening it still felt as though it all happened out of nowhere and was a big surprise. Life is happening fast and furious and that is how it just kind of snuck up on us. (Snuck is not a word according to the red underline on my page, but I'm leaving it there.) So, after working a horrendously long day of inventory I got to come home and spend until about 11 pm moving stuff and making sure that the workers had room to put the laminate down.
The chaos is slowly lifting. All of the 3 bedrooms are currently livable. The living room and garage, not so much. Hell, we still have our X-mas tree up which is something I'll have to rectify tomorrow on my day off. There is still a lot of stuff that has to be sorted through to find out what we are keeping and what we are getting rid of. I've already thrown away 3 garbage bags worth of stuff while no one was looking and there is more to come.
People are scavengers, at least in our neighborhood. While putting out the garbage this past week I set out an old TV/Monitor which doesn't work and two electric heaters to go with the numerous trash bags. Ten minutes later I went outside to put another bag in the garbage and the aforementioned objects were missing. It was late. It was dark. The stuff wasn't outside for long but it was gone just as quick. I guess that's good because it's less crap the garbage man has to deal with, but I am curious if I am going to see that broken TV back outside in front of someones house next trash day to clue me off to who is going through my garbage.
By the end of the night I added a window blind (in a box) and a bed frame, both of those were not there when the trash-man came.
I have five more working days until my two week vacation, to spend time with the baby, is here. I need a vacation. I'm killing myself at work and home life is chaotic with everything that has been and is about to happen. A screaming baby is just what I need to reset my inner work clock and go back refreshed but slightly disheveled due to lack of sleep (so I'm told).
I did a major refresh on my cover letter and resume and put in for a new position just yesterday. The posting comes down at the end of the week and I expect to hear back and hopefully have an interview set up during my vacation. Maybe I'll be able to come back to work after my vacation just to inform my current store that I'm movin'on'up. Who knows, stranger things have happened.
Other than my clanking on the keyboard the only sound in the house is coming from the snoring dog in my lap which is soon to be replaced by snoring baby. I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of jealousy in this house for a while and managing it is going to be less than fun.
The dog has his place, in bed, between my wife and I but usually on my side or between my legs. He is going to have to adjust to having this other small beast taking up some of his favorite spots, like my lap. He is going to have to be more gentile and he is going to have to not jump or get defensive when this other small beast grabs him randomly and tugs or smacks him. I don't feel that will be an issue because he has the 9 year old who has been a typical abusive boy over the years to him - but that jealousy that someone, something, else is getting attention he feels he deserves.
Which leads to the biggest area of jealousy that will occur and that is with our nine year old. He has been the one an the only for nine years now. All the attention, all of the everything has been showered his way. He is used to it and now he is going to have to share it, he is going to have to take a back seat for a little while because, lets face it, no matter how much people say that they will make sure he still gets his attention the first while is all going to be focused on this new pooping crying creature in the house.
The nine year old is used to more than his fair share of attention, I'd dare say that he has gotten too much over the years and aspects of his development are behind the curve because of it. I've never seen a nine year old who has issues functioning (it could be my limited exposure to the world of children though) when other people are not giving him attention. He doesn't like to play by himself, he always wants someone playing with him or at least watching him. He doesn't even like watching TV by himself, he always wants someone else there. To me it is strange but I am adapting and have been over the past couple of years. I am trying to steer him to becoming more independent even though I'm probably going to bitch about it in a few years when he wants nothing to do with us and just wants to be out with his friends all the time. So, let's see how we can bridge that gap from him getting, wanting, craving, needing all the attention to him sharing it with his new baby brother. Life is going to become infinitely more interesting.
So all is quiet but complete and utter chaos is just around the corner. I can smell it and I am looking forward to my life changing.
While her job might not know it at this point my wife is done working for the next four months. She was supposed to work today and tomorrow but she just physically cannot do it, and probably mentally as well. She is tired, she is weighed down. She has this big baby inside her currently waiting to come out and be welcomed into the world and into our lives and this is just 8 days away.
Eight days until everything changes.
Eight days left to enjoy the quiet, the calm. There is a storm a'brewin' and that storm is another member of the grrouch household.
This past weekend everyone in my family (except myself) was sick. Both the wife and son slept the entire weekend away save for a few moments to turn the TV on or have a light snack before falling back to sleep. This weekend was supposed to be about getting the house back into order but, as they say, the best laid plans of mice and men.
Last week we had laminate put into the bedrooms. This all happened while I was working my week of inventory and even though we knew it was happening it still felt as though it all happened out of nowhere and was a big surprise. Life is happening fast and furious and that is how it just kind of snuck up on us. (Snuck is not a word according to the red underline on my page, but I'm leaving it there.) So, after working a horrendously long day of inventory I got to come home and spend until about 11 pm moving stuff and making sure that the workers had room to put the laminate down.
The chaos is slowly lifting. All of the 3 bedrooms are currently livable. The living room and garage, not so much. Hell, we still have our X-mas tree up which is something I'll have to rectify tomorrow on my day off. There is still a lot of stuff that has to be sorted through to find out what we are keeping and what we are getting rid of. I've already thrown away 3 garbage bags worth of stuff while no one was looking and there is more to come.
People are scavengers, at least in our neighborhood. While putting out the garbage this past week I set out an old TV/Monitor which doesn't work and two electric heaters to go with the numerous trash bags. Ten minutes later I went outside to put another bag in the garbage and the aforementioned objects were missing. It was late. It was dark. The stuff wasn't outside for long but it was gone just as quick. I guess that's good because it's less crap the garbage man has to deal with, but I am curious if I am going to see that broken TV back outside in front of someones house next trash day to clue me off to who is going through my garbage.
By the end of the night I added a window blind (in a box) and a bed frame, both of those were not there when the trash-man came.
I have five more working days until my two week vacation, to spend time with the baby, is here. I need a vacation. I'm killing myself at work and home life is chaotic with everything that has been and is about to happen. A screaming baby is just what I need to reset my inner work clock and go back refreshed but slightly disheveled due to lack of sleep (so I'm told).
I did a major refresh on my cover letter and resume and put in for a new position just yesterday. The posting comes down at the end of the week and I expect to hear back and hopefully have an interview set up during my vacation. Maybe I'll be able to come back to work after my vacation just to inform my current store that I'm movin'on'up. Who knows, stranger things have happened.
Other than my clanking on the keyboard the only sound in the house is coming from the snoring dog in my lap which is soon to be replaced by snoring baby. I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of jealousy in this house for a while and managing it is going to be less than fun.
The dog has his place, in bed, between my wife and I but usually on my side or between my legs. He is going to have to adjust to having this other small beast taking up some of his favorite spots, like my lap. He is going to have to be more gentile and he is going to have to not jump or get defensive when this other small beast grabs him randomly and tugs or smacks him. I don't feel that will be an issue because he has the 9 year old who has been a typical abusive boy over the years to him - but that jealousy that someone, something, else is getting attention he feels he deserves.
